More of Hokusai's Mount Fuji Series

There are 46 ukiyo-e woodblock prints in Hokusai's Mt Fuji series. In my search for the 24 named in the novella by Roger Zelazny, I uncovered a total of 40 on various web sites. A list of the prints, cross-indexed with the sites on which I located them, can be found on the table below. Links to the web sites are included in the column headings, and at the end of the table. The links and information are current as of January 1, 2004.

For those who would like to view more ukiyo-e works on the web, I recommend Ukiyo-e: The Pictures of the Floating World.

Abbreviations and Links

These three sites were introduced earlier:

Asahi - Asahi Japan Collectibles Home Page

SW - Selected Works from Hokusai's 36 Views of Mt Fuji - (broken)

UM - University of Montreal's "Estampes Japonaises" - (broken)

In addition, there are:

JBU - Jim Breen's Ukiyo-E Gallery - Hokusai
The site includes ten prints in the series, plus two versions of a Mt Fuji scene by Hiroshige Ando.

Meibis - Meibis Museum
This site can be difficult for non-Japanese speakers to navigate. The quality of the images presented is mediocre, but it contains four Fuji scenes I've been able to locate nowhere else.

Nagoya - Nagoya TV Ukiyo-e Museum
This server contains four of Hokusai's Fuji series, plus works by other ukiyo-e artists.
